Triennial Convention 2011

The Methodist Church of Southern Africa Women’s Manyano Triennial Conference is the highest structure of the Women’s Manyano in Southern Africa. It comprises of women from Southern Africa, i.e. South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Botswana and Mozambique. (Click here for Triennial Convention welcoming message).

The Triennial Conference is a creation of women who sought to create a platform where their voices could be heard, be involved in decision making and utilised it as a vehicle to influence decision making structures within the church and secular world in issues affecting vulnerable groups (women, children and people with disability).

It is affiliated to the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women from eighty three (83) countries. The World Federation enjoys an NGO status and is represented in the United Nations. The Triennial Conference is preceded by various districts (presided over by District Executives) whose outcomes are presented to the Connexional General Committee. These conventions take place on an annual basis for three consecutive years and culminate into a Womens’ Manyano Triennial Conference. The Connexional General Committee and Triennial Conference are presided over by the Connexional Executive. The Connexional General Executive retains office for a period of three (3) years.

The conference seeks to uplift women spiritually, deal with various issues affecting women, sharing of information networking as well as fundraising for projects envisaged.
