Welcome to the website of the Methodist Women's Prayer and Service Union, commonly known as the Manyano. This organisation consists of dedicated women who strive not only for purity of speech or holiness of life, but also views itself as the vehicle for Methodist women emanicpation.

Triennial Convention 2011 Welcome Message

The moment has arrived for us to express our sincere gratitude for your faith in us. We are tempted to believe that, this was God’s appointment and you allowed Him to utilise you to accomplish His work.  The mandate passed on us to lead this massive women organisation in our church left us feeling humbled. It is indeed an enormous obligation that calls for a Spiritual Guidance from above.
We humbly undertake this mandate trusting in the Stewardship of our Lord, for on our own we are fragile and lack strength and wisdom to lead His creation. The euphoria of 2010 is gone and past. The Internationals, who landed on our soil, left with a good impression of our country and our people.
Some have learnt a thing or two as this event was an eye-opener to some, who thought Africa is a “Dark Continent.” Nevertheless, back home to some this was not beneficial as their status-quo remained impoverished.
I believe that we are called to bring means of survival to the worn-out. We are called to be Beacons of Hope to the despondent.  Enacting these calls and many others that extend His Kingdom on earth will be a pointer
to the “Fulfilment of God’s Will.” Our efforts must bear witness to our church’s proclamation that our church is Spiritually led and Mission oriented.  By so doing the vision of the church will be a living testimony to many within our circles and outside our circles.  If we are to curb incidents such as the Dewani’s who is alleged to have exploited one of us to achieve his clandestine actions, it is imperative that we educate our women and
children for a value-added life. This exercise can never in anyway be regarded as costly, unachievable or be negated.
My you be Blessed during this Triennial.
